Accessibility statement

How Handlet approaches accessibility under the Equality Act 2010 — honest WCAG posture, no false AA claim.

Effective date: 24 October 2026

Last updated: 24 October 2026

Accessibility at Handlet

HANDLET LIMITED ("Handlet") wants everyone to be able to use our website and product. We build with accessibility in mind and treat it as ongoing work.

What the law expects of us

As a UK service provider, we must make reasonable adjustments in advance under the Equality Act 2010 so that disabled people are not put at a substantial disadvantage when using our services.

Handlet is not a public sector body, so the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018 do not apply to us directly. We still use WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our technical benchmark, because it is the standard commonly used to judge whether reasonable adjustments have been made.

If we supply services under a public sector contract with its own accessibility requirements, we will meet those contract terms.

How accessible Handlet is today

We have not completed a full WCAG 2.2 AA audit of the whole product. So we do not claim that Handlet conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA, and we do not hold a VPAT or accessibility conformance report.

What we do today:

  • Accessibility checklists for key controls in our design system.
  • Automated accessibility tests on key journeys, including the inbox, pricing, privacy forms, this statement and the quote widget.
  • Fixes on high-traffic pages, such as a skip link, clearer legal links, labelled privacy forms, and quote widget labels, focus, error messages and reduced-motion support.
  • Further fixes as part of regular product work.

Known limitations:

  • Some dense tables and charts may be hard to use with a screen reader or keyboard only, until text summaries are added.
  • Content from other providers (payments, CRM, advertising tools, maps) has those providers' accessibility limits.
  • Downloaded PDFs or reports may not meet WCAG.
  • The quote widget on a trade's own website takes on that website's styling. We fix the parts of the widget we control, not the host website.

Reasonable adjustments

If you need information in another format, or you find an accessibility barrier:

  • Email: support@handlet.ai
  • We aim to reply within 5 business days and tell you what we can do, for example larger text, another format, or a guided walkthrough.

You can also contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) or the Equality and Human Rights Commission for advice about the Equality Act.

What we are doing next

  • Fixing barriers found in our accessibility tests, most important first.
  • Using shared interface parts with consistent focus, labels and touch targets.
  • Treating accessibility regressions on tested journeys as release defects.
  • Completing a fuller assessment before we claim WCAG 2.2 AA conformance.
